Yes to Mess!

Between Two Worlds: Yes to Mess
I am not ready to throw in the towel on my efforts to try and organize ( otherwise a person like me could get lost in the avalanche of their own "creative" messiness, but for many of us this article holds solace. An odd comfort, maybe, but the method of our madness can be explained a bit! A link to a NYTimes article resounds with Messies everywhere throughout the blogosphere. It brought to mind a few things in the DIY dept. Like, have you ever started a job only to spend hours trying to locate your tools and supplies? mmmHmmm. There are lots of us out there- millions of poor messy souls who are creative, but organizationally challenged. My husband ( a closet messy) and myself want to change some of that for ourselves.

So I will still put up storage shelving, boxes with labels, and try to file my bank statements, but now I can view my perpetually piled computer desk area as a testament to my creative and "limber" mind!

I'm a definate messy person. I try to stop. I've tried to buy those neat little drawer systems, and I get very proud of myself for about a month. But then, one by one those drawers get switched to "Junk Drawers" and I'm worse off than when I started.
Good luck to you, I hope you can stick with it. :)

I'm like you,in sometimes being worse off, but I keep trying to improve ( like you mention in using drawer systmes, etc) and use different ideas. I never was successful at a complete "system". I view the organizing as a sort of ebb and flow...sometimes I win and sometimes the mess wins in the control of the events around here.
